Aloha
This is a picture of my husband on the day he arrived in Hawaii (note the lei). I miss his smile. (: and his beard, sort of. mostly because it's attached to his face. lol

my week
this past week stunk like a pile of stinky socks.
i can't go into all the details, but most of it had to do with a sore back.

monday = sleep in, teach scrapbooking to k-3rd graders
tuesday = sleep in, teach scrapbooking to k-3rd graders
wednesday = sleep in, teach scrapbooking to k-3rd graders, hang out with my friends the Shreeves
thursday = sleep in, teach scrapbooking to k-3rd graders, hang out with my friend Grace (et al?)
friday = sleep in, scrapbook into the late night/early morning
saturday = work at the scrapbook store. it's the scrapbook expo in sacramento so we're having a crop party at the store during the day... and then heading over to the convention center to crop some more into the early morning!
fun time to be had by all...
hopefully my back will be all better by saturday because it's going to be a fun day.

my friends
ok, before i post about the mystery trip... (i'm waiting for pictures *cough*Robyn*cough*)
Some people I knew when I lived in Texas are in a band and they are going to take over the world one day... Eisley. Recently they were asked to perform at the local news station and here are two of their songs. My total favorite is Go Away. The other one is awesome, too. please take a moment to watch and listen. This is only 3 out of 5 of the band members. The one on the right is Sherry, she is sassy. The middle one is Stacy, she is shy. The one on the left is Chauntelle, she is serendipitous? I couldn't think of another s-word. The other band mates are the drummer Weston and the bass player Garron. They are brother and sisters and Garron is their cousin. Lovely family, truly lovely. The mom and dad have been mentors for me for the many, many years I lived in Texas. Their little siblings have been fun to play with. They have a beautiful house in East Texas that is always so welcoming.

you might think i'm weird...
but i LOVE the Dallas/Ft. Worth airport. I have spent many, many days/nights at this airport. I don't have any recent photos right now so I looked back and found an older one that i hadn't shared. this was taken from my viewpoint one early morning/late night at the DFW airport.
for those of you that don't know, i used to live in a small town two hours east of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. the place i worked at for most of my time out there facilitated short term missions trips for young people (ages 13-18, with the leaders being older). Anyways, each summer 2,000-4,000 of them would fly from their home states to the great country of Texas were one of the staff members would pick them up and shuttle them to the campus for their training. from the campus they would then need shuttled back to the airport to fly to where ever it was they were going to go. and then they flew back from places like Africa, New Zealand, El Salvador, etc. then then were shuttled from the airport to the campus for "debriefing" and then they were shuttled back to the airport to fly home.
yeah, all that to say that i was at the airport many, many, many times. and i loved it. learning how to get from one side of the airport to the other the quickest way possible. i no longer work for that place. and since then, they have built a beautiful new terminal and a new tram system. i'm jealous. (:
boring post just because.
